Men's Soccer Falls at ACC Foe Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – William & Mary men's soccer suffered a 4-0 setback at ACC foe Wake Forest on Tuesday evening.
 
Wake Forest (5-4-1) scored 15 minutes into the contest as Omar Hernandez hit a knuckling shot from 20 yards out into the left side of the goal to give the home team a 1-0 lead.
 
The Demon Deacons added a second in the opening half just five minutes before the intermission. Chase Oliver generated a turnover on the right wing, took the ball to the endline before crossing to Roald Mitchell who lifted it up and over Connor Andrews for the second goal of the game.
 
Wake Forest added goals five minutes apart in the opening 20 minutes of the second half. Kyle Holcomb headed one home from eight yards out in the 56th minute, before Hernandez slotted home his second shot in the 61st minute.
 
Junior goalkeeper Connor Andrews finished with three saves in goal for W&M (3-5). Cole McNally picked up the shutout with two saves on the other side.
 
Wake Forest finished with a 16-4 advantage in shots and a 5-1 cushion in corner kicks.
