WILLIAMSBURG, VA- William & Mary baseball (3-4) completed the three-game sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson with a 9-2 win over the Knights Sunday afternoon.
Jack Cone allowed just one run on three hits over six innings to earn the win. Freshman
Ben Greenspon tossed a pair of flawless innings in relief and
Brandon Raquet would smash three hits, score twice, and drive in a pair of runs for the Tribe.
The Tribe got the scoring going early as
Ben Williamson walked to start the game.
Matt Thomas would single and he and Williamson would both come home on Raquet's triple down the right-field line.
W&M would strike again in the third as
Cole Ragone would double and come around on a
Matthew Trehub single. Fairleigh Dickenson would finally crack
Jack Cone plating a run in the fifth, but the Tribe would answer with a pair of runs highlighted by
Tyler Solomon's steal of home plate.
Raquet would smoke his second triple of the afternoon with two outs in the sixth and come in on
Hunter Hart's single to center. The Tribe would plate three more runs in the eighth extending the lead to 9-1. The Knights would a run back in the ninth, but
Randy Prosperi shut the door for the 9-2 win.
Up next, the Tribe will head to Charlottesville for a 3:00 p.m. Tuesday meeting with Virginia. Next weekend WM will host Wagner, West Virginia, and Georgetown at Plumeri Park.
NOTES
Brandon Raquet had a pair of triples in the win and three on the weekend. Overall the Tribe hit nine triples as a team in sweep.
Two-way player
Jack Cone earned his second career win on the hill Sunday afternoon. The sophomore also had four hits, three RBI, and three runs scored in the series.

Matthew Trehub all stole bases for the Tribe in the win. WM swiped nine bags over the weekend.
Cone, Greenspon, and Prosperi combined to hold Fairleigh Dickinson to just four hits Sunday afternoon, the fewest by an opposing team this seaon.
