Women’s Cross Country’s Lauren Finikiotis Named Tribe Leader of the Week

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary senior runner Lauren Finikiotis was named the Tribe Leader of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Monday. The Tribe Leader of the Week recognizes exceptional William & Mary student-athletes for their contributions as leaders in the classroom and the community.
 
A team captain, Finikiotis is a three-time All-CAA honoree and was the 2017 CAA Rookie of the Year in cross country. He finished third at the 2018 CAA Championship to help the Tribe to the league crown. Finikiotis twice earned All-East honors during the indoor season and qualified for the ECAC Outdoor Championships in 2019.
 
Academically, Finikiotis is a finance and mathematical economics major and has been on the Dean's List and a Provost Award winner each of her years on campus. Over the summer of 2020, she was a summer analyst at JPMorgan Private Bank in Washington, D.C. In 2019, she served as a research intern at the David Berg Center of Ethics and Leadership in Pittsburgh, Pa.
 
Last spring, Finikiotis was selected to the Mortar Board Society, ranking among the top 3% of W&M's Class of 2021 for leadership, service and academic achievement. As part of the organization, she volunteers for various organizations around campus and organizes W&M's campus tradition of the Yule Log Ceremony. She is also a member of Women in Business on campus.
