WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary senior runner
Spencer Tsai was named the Tribe Leader of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery. The Tribe Leader of the Week recognizes exceptional William & Mary student-athletes for their contributions as leaders in the classroom and the community.
Tsai has been an integral part in helping the Tribe to three Colonial Athletic Association Cross Country Championships during his time in Williamsburg. He earned All-CAA honors each of the last two years, including placing fifth in 2019 and eighth in 2018. Tsai was selected a team liaison and captain by his peers to promote excellence in academics, athletics, and team culture. During the indoor season in 2020, he was an IC4A qualifier in the 3,000 meters.
Along with his running success, Tsai has excelled in the classroom as well. He is a business analytics major with emphasis in date science and an economics minor and twice earned CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll distinction.
On campus, Tsai has been a member of the Finance Academy each of the last two years. Over the summer of 2020, he was a business analyst intern in IT Business Operations for Cambridge Associates in Arlington, Va. A native of Eugene, Ore., he served as a research intern for the University of Oregon Department of Finance and Administration in 2019 and a research assistant at the Oregon Research Institute in 2017.
