WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's soccer senior Sam Golan was named the Tribe Leader of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Monday. The Tribe Leader of the Week recognizes exceptional William & Mary student-athletes for their contributions as leaders in the classroom and the community.

A three-year starter, Golan is a two-time All-CAA Third Team pick and has ranked among the Tribe leaders in minutes play from his center back position during his career. After coming off the bench in his first career game, he has started each of the last 56 matches for the Green and Gold. Golan own nine career points on three goals and three assists. Golan was also the recipient of Crapol Scholarship in 2018, named in honor of former Tribe player Andy Crapol who lost his battle with cancer in 2009.

Along with being a leader on the field, Golan, who will earn his undergraduate degree in December, is a standout in the classroom, majoring in business analytics with a concentration in data science. He was a three-time Provost Award winner and a member of the Dean's List at William & Mary. Golan earned a spot on the Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll during each of the last three years.

Over the summer, Golan spent time as a consultant intern with The Bucy Group in McLean, Va. In the community, Sam and the men's soccer program work with Child Development Resources, including the organization's 5K Fun Run and Auction.
