Junior Alex Kuhnle's Three-Point Day Helps Women's Soccer to 2-1 Triumph Versus Towson

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Junior Alex Kuhnle recorded a three-point day as the William & Mary women's soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory over Colonial Athletic Association foe Towson on Sunday afternoon at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.

After pressuring for a majority of the first half, W&M (3-6-2, 1-0-1 CAA) jumped on the board in the 34th minute. Off a free kick, Kuhnle sent a ball right in front of the mouth of the goal. Hustling to the ball was junior Colleen Norton, who flipped it over the head of the keeper for the Tribe's first goal.

Kuhnle struck again this time scoring to put the Tribe up two in the 75th minute. With the Tribe on the attack the ball bounced to Kuhnle, who was all alone 30 yards out on the left side. The junior uncorked a high arching shot that found the upper-90 of the right side of the goal.

Towson didn't go away and scored a late marker in the second half. Towson goalkeeper Delaney Mitchell sent a punt that bounced to Christiana Davey, who had Tribe goalkeeper Katelyn Briguglio charging at her. Davey was able to loft it over the head of Briguglio, before the two collided, and the ball bounced into the empty net.
