How It Happened
- The Tribe jumped on the board with a run in the first inning. With one out, back-to-back singles from sophomore
David Hogarth and senior

Hunter Hart grounded out to short, but it was enough to give the Tribe the first run of the game.
- Maryland came right back and added the tying run in the bottom half of the inning. AJ Lee led off with a single, before stealing second. Randy Bednar, followed, with a double into left that leveled the score.
- W&M's offense erupted for four runs in the top of the second inning. After an out, junior
Brandon Raquet singled and sophomore
David Angstadt doubled. Senior
Kyle Wrighte followed with a two-RBI double, before a walk to freshman
Matt Thomas. The rally continued as Hogarth singled to bring in Wrighte. With two outs, Hart walked to load the bases, before senior
Jason Waldman was hit by a pitch to make it 5-1.
- The Green and Gold kept the offense rolling with another run in the top of the third. Raquet singled, while Angstadt was hit by a pitch, and Wrighte reached on an error to load the bases with no outs. The next batter, Thomas flew out to center, but it was deep enough to plate Raquet on a sacrifice fly and make it 6-1.
- UMD took its first lead as it brought home six runs in the home half of the third inning. Back-to-back homers from Taylor Wright and Maxwell Costes cut the Tribe's lead in half. The rally kept going as Justin Vought walked and Caleb Walls singled through the right side to put runners on the corners. Josh Maguire singled through the left side to bring home the third run of the inning. Benjamin Cowles kept the line moving as he was hit by a pitch, and then the next three batters - Chris Alleyne, Lee, and Bednar - all recorded RBIs to make it 7-6 Terps.
-The Terps extended their lead with a seven-run bottom of the fifth. Back-to-back walks to Maguire and Cowles started the inning before Michael Pinerio singled through the right side to bring home the inning's first run. A walk to Lee reloaded the bases then Bednar singled to left which plated Cowles, and a sac fly scored Pinerio. A walk to Costes again loaded the bases and Vought hit Maryland's third homer of the game, a grand slam, to extend the UMD lead to 14-6.
- W&M got two runs back with single runs in both the top of the sixth and the seventh innings. Waldman cracked a solo shot in the sixth, and Wrighte started the rally in the seventh with a single, before Thomas was hit by a pitch. A groundout moved each runner 90 feet and a wild pitch allowed Wrighte to score.
- UMD scored its final two runs of the game in the bottom of the inning Costes led off the frame with a walk, and moved up to third on two wild pitches, and then Maguire homered.
- The Tribe rallied for two runs in the ninth. Raquet led off the inning with single, before Wrighte blasted a one-out homer over the right-centerfield wall to draw the Tribe within 16-10.
