WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary men's gymnastics team concluded its regular season slate with a second-place finish in a quad meet on Senior Day at Kaplan Arena.
Army claimed the team title with a 394.0 and was followed by W&M (391.950), Springfield (375.25) and Temple (348.6).
En route to recording its third-best score of the season, the Tribe earned season highs on floor (68.2) and high bar (65.95).
Highlighting the Tribe's individual efforts were three gymnasts who won event titles –
Spencer Schrandt (pommel horse, 13.2),
David Watkins (rings, 13.75) and
David Allen (high bar, 14.0).
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Floor, 68.2 – W&M started the meet well with a season-high score on floor, as
Cutter Fugett led the way with a third-place finish (14.0).
Collin Lillie (13.85) and
Kevin Portofee (13.75, career high) also contributed to the team total.
Pommel Horse, 62.95 – Tribe gymnasts posted the top three scores on pommel horse, as Schrandt (13.2),
Jacopo Gliozzi (13.15) and Fugett (13.0) recorded the event's best performances.
Rings, 64.9 – Watkins (13.75) and Gliozzi (13.4) led the way on rings and placed first and third, respectively.
Vault, 67.95 –
Jack Hasenkopf was the Tribe's top performer on vault and placed third with a 13.95, while
Andrew Lyubovsky (13.85) and
Tim O'Neill (13.8) narrowly missed out on a top-three finish.
Parallel Bars, 62.0 –
Ian Creelman highlighted W&M's effort on parallel bars and tied for fourth with a career-high 13.15.
High Bar, 65.95 – Allen won the high bar title with a season-best 14.0, while Creelman finished third with a career-high 13.4 to help W&M earn its best score of the season in the event.
All-Around –
Nate Winneg (75.65) and Portofee (75.0) competed as all-arounders and both earned career highs.

W&M will begin the championship portion of its schedule when it competes at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships hosted by Navy on March 29-30.
