WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Delaware's Anna Diffendal scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of double-overtime to top the William & Mary women's soccer team 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.
Delaware (8-5, 3-1 CAA) scored the match's only goal in the 109th minute off of a corner kick. Gabby Johnson sent the ball in off the corner and it rolled around dangerously. Diffendal, who had just subbed back on, got to it and uncorked the winner into the middle of the net.
W&M (3-8-1, 1-2-1 CAA) had multiple chances in the match and turned six shots on target, but couldn't find the winner. Delaware goalkeeper Kamryn Stablein came up with all six stops though to record a clean sheet.
