Bianca Boggs recorded her second straight double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds and freshman
Eva Hodgson scored a career-high 18 including, 5-of-6 from the line to ice the game as the Tribe survived a Hofstra run and won its Colonial Athletic Association opener a 60-55 on Friday night. With the win, the Tribe improved to 8-4, 1-0 in CAA play, while the Pride falls to 6-7, 0-1 in league action.
Down 52-50 with 3:22 left in regulation, W&M outscored the Pride 8-2 down the stretch to pick up the win. Hodgson tied the score with a lay-up, before Birdsong swished two from the line to give W&M the lead for good. The Tribe went 6-of-8 down the stretch from the line to secure the win.
Hofstra used an 11-0 run over the end of the third quarter and start of the fourth to take its first lead since the first quarter. Marieanne Kalin started the rally with four points in a row, before Boogie Brozoski hit a 3-pointer at the end of the frame to cut the lead to 47-45. Brozoski scored the first four points of the final quarter to give the Pride a 49-47 lead with 7:50 left.
Trailing by one, W&M used 10-1 run to build an eight point lead late in the first quarter. Redshirt sophomore
Harper Birdsong sparked the rally with a 3-pointer to give the Tribe the lead. Boggs then scored five in a row, before a Hofstra free throw, and Hodgson scored a steal and lay-up. The run gave W&M a 21-13 cushion with 52 seconds left in the opening stanza.
With a nine-point lead, the Tribe used a quick 6-0 run to take its largest first half lead. Boggs and classmate
Misha Jones combined for back-to-back triples to give W&M a 39-24 lead with 1:15 left in the half.

Marianne Kalin and Boogie Brozoski each finished with a team-high 17 points for Hofstra. Kalin added three rebounds and three blocks, while Brozoski added three rebounds, three assists and a steal. E'Lexus Davis added eight points and eight rebounds.

- W&M shot 43.2-percent (19-of-44) from the field and 42.9-percent (6-for-14) from 3-point range.
- The Tribe shot 84.2-percent (16-for-19) from the line. The Tribe attempted six more free throws then the Pride.
