BOSTON, Mass. – The William & Mary women's basketball team dropped an 88-74 decision at Northeastern on Sunday afternoon in Boston. With the result, the Tribe drops to 8-5, 1-1 in Colonial Athletic Association play, while the Huskies improve to 12-1, 2-0 in league action.

Leading by four, Northeastern used a quick 5-0 spurt to take its largest lead of the first half late in the second quarter. Jess Genco canned a corner 3-pointer before Rachel Aho added a lay-up to make 37-28 with 1:55 left in the first half. The Tribe, however, responded by scoring five of the last six points to cut the halftime deficit to 38-33.
Northeastern used a 10-1 run to build a 14-point lead it would not relinquish with 2:42 left in the third quarter. Gabby Giacone hit back-to-back baskets, before Shannon Todd hit a triple to push the lead to double-figures for the first time. After a Tribe free throw, Genco added three from the stripe to make it 61-47.

Jess Genco led all scorers with 30 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Shannon Todd added 17 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Gabby Giacone rounded out the double-digit scorers with a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Inside the Numbers
- W&M shot 37.7-percent (23-of-61) from the field in the contest, but did connect on 11 3-pointers, which is the third time this season it has hit more than 10.
- Northeastern held a considerable edge on the glass, 41-29. It led to 11-second chance points, however W&M led that category 12-11.
- The Tribe's bench outscored the Huskies' 29-12.
