Sarah Segan scored a seventh minute goal and junior
Katelyn Briguglio and the Tribe defense made it stand up as the William & Mary women's soccer team blanked Towson 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Maryland. With the decision, the Green and Gold improves to 4-6, 1-1 in Colonial Athletic Association play, while the Tigers drop to 3-8-1, 0-2-0 in league action.
W&M jumped on the board first with a goal in the seventh minute of the match. Redshirt junior
Sarah Segan raced into the right side of the penalty area before tucking her shot inside the left post from 10-yards out.
Briguglio and the Tribe defense were stout all afternoon as the team recorded its second shutout of the year. The junior made six saves in her second win of the season.

The Green and Gold returns home for a pair of CAA matches the following weekend. W&M has its CAA opener against UNCW on Thursday, Sept. 27, before welcoming Drexel on Sunday, Sept. 30. Kickoffs are set for 7 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
