DAVIDSON, N.C. – A duo of sophomore Kate Dedrick and freshman Claire Farrell opened 2018 with 10-plus kills, but the William & Mary volleyball team fell to Marist in five sets by scores of 15-25, 32-34, 25-18, 25-20, 15-10. Dedrick drilled 13 kills and Farrell added 11 more to led the Tribe (0-1) against the Red Foxes (1-0).

A Red Foxes' attack error, followed by a Farrell kill chipped Marist's advantage to 8-5, but the Tribe wouldn't get any closer as the Red Foxes completed the comeback.

Quotable
"We came out of the gate aggressive like we wanted to – I thought we created scoring opportunities with our serving and got them off balance. Marist came out in sets three-five though and handled our serve better, which allowed them to swing hard. We have an opportunity to bounce back tomorrow with two more matches." – head coach Tim Doyle
