WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's basketball team's furious comeback came up just short as it fell to Delaware 61-52 on Senior Night at Kaplan Arena. With the decision, the Tribe falls to 16-11, 7-9 in Colonial Athletic Association play, while the Blue Hens improve to 17-9, 10-5 in league play.
Trailing by as many as 18 points in the second half, W&M used a 12-1 run to cut it to six with 1:13 left in the third quarter. Senior
Jenna Green started the spurt with five straight points, including a traditional 3-point play, before a sophomore
Nari Garner 3-pointer cut the lead to single digit. Junior
Bianca Boggs added four from the line to make it 50-44 near the end of the stanza.
W&M cut the lead to six four times in the third and fourth quarters, but could get no closer as the Blue Hens scored five of the final seven points to secure the win. Rebecca Lawrence hit a long jumper, before Samone DeFreese added free throw and Abby Gonzalez connected on a long 2-point field goal to make it 61-50 with 2:13 left.
Leading by nine, Delaware scored the final six points of the first half to take its largest lead of the first half into the locker room. Nicole Enabosi connected on back-to-back 3-point plays to make it 39-24 at the break.

Abby Rendle and
Jenna Green led the Tribe with 12 points apiece on senior night. Rendle had eight rebounds, four blocks, and a steal, while Green added four assists, three rebounds, and three steals. Sophomore
Nari Garner was in double figures the fifth time in the last six games has she had 11 points, four rebounds, and a block. Junior
Bianca Boggs rebound out the Tribe double-figure scorers with 10 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Nicole Enabosi paced Delaware with 24 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double. She added one block and three steals to lead two Blue Hens in double-digits. Samone DeFreese added 13 points and seven rebounds, while both Bailey Kargo (nine points) and Abby Gonzales (eight points) just missed double-figures.

- W&M shot just 32.1-percent (17-of-53) from the floor in the contest. Fourteen of the Tribe's 16 wins have come when they shoot better than 40-percent.
- W&M's bench outscored Delaware's 16-3.
