WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-13) decision to CAA rival Hofstra in Kaplan Arena on Friday night. The Pride (18-7, 8-3 CAA) committed just 12 attack errors for a .295 hitting percentage to top the Tribe (5-15, 1-10 CAA).
After Hofstra took the first set, the Green and Gold made a gritty attempt to even up the match in the second period. The Tribe produced its best offensive effort in the frame, registering a .308 hitting efficiency behind 15 kills in 39 attempts with only three errors. Back-to-back kills from freshmen

Claire Farrell, followed by a Hofstra error granted W&M a 3-0 lead to open game two.
Halfway through the second set, the Pride ripped off a 6-0 run to take a 14-7 advantage. However, the steady serve of rookie
Lauren Merrill and a pair of kills from Farrell highlighted a 5-0 Tribe sprint, closing the gap to 20-18. Sophomore

Katie Kemp combined on a block, before Kemp assisted Brown on a kill to trim it down to a 23-22 affair.
Nonetheless, Hofstra's Doris Bogoje scored set-point via kill, before Luisa Sydlik served an ace to stop the Tribe rally. The Pride went on to hit .455 in the third set to claim the stanza by double-digits.

- Farrell shined offensively with 13 kills, while adding four digs and an ace.
- It took Brown only 17 attempts to collect eight kills, committing just three errors for a .294 attack rate.
- Kemp finished the match with an impressive 29 assists with six digs.
