WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Feb. 28, 2017) — After posting an outstanding performance at a three-team meet hosted by Army on Saturday, William & Mary standout men's gymnast
Jacopo Gliozzi has been selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Specialist of the Week.
It marks the second time this season Gliozzi has earned the distinction, as he was honored in late January after a tremendous effort at the Navy Open. Additionally, it is the third time this season that a Tribe gymnast has garnered the accolade.
Although he competed in just one event, pommel horse, the Fairfax, Va., native posted a winning score of 14.4. The impressive mark ranks third in the Tribe's record book.
One of the nation's top performers on pommel horse the season, Gliozzi currently ranks 12th in the country in the event with a three-score average of 14.267.
Gliozzi is one of four Tribe gymnasts who currently rank among the nation's top 30 –
Rob Meyer (20th, PB),
Griffin Antle (27th, PH),
Aria Sabbagh (27th, AA).
The Tribe will return to action when it hosts Navy at Kaplan Arena on Friday at 6 p.m.
