WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary baseball team rallied from an early four-run deficit to complete the sweep of Lafayette with a 6-5 victory on Sunday at Plumeri Park. With the win, the Tribe evens its record at 3-3, while the Leopards drop to 1-6 overall.

Ryan Hall continued a big weekend by collecting two more RBIs.
A pair of first inning homers jump started Lafayette to an early 4-0 lead. After the first out of the game, Dan Leckie homered over the left field wall. The rally continued as Steven Cohen, Alex Woinski followed with back to-back singles. The second out of the inning was recorded on a strikeout, but Luke Robinson connected on the second homer of the frame to right field.
W&M's offense finally got started in the bottom of the fifth inning, plating five runs. Tilley legged out an infield single, before freshman

Ryder Miconi followed suite with a base hits, loading the bases. Redshirt sophomore
Kyle Wrighte put the ball in play, forcing a Lafayette error that allowed for the Tribe's first two runs. After an out, Large restarted the rally with a single into right, before Hall cleared the bases with a double to give the Tribe the 5-4 advantage.
The Tribe tacked on another run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Sophomore
Matthew Keane led off the frame with a double, before Wrighte laid down a bunt single, putting runners on the corners. Ameer grounded into a double play, but it was enough to push W&M to a 6-4 advantage.
Lafayette cut the deficit to one with a run in the top of the eighth inning. With an out, Cohen walked, before Woinski doubled into right putting two in scoring position. The next batter, John Selsor grounded out but it was enough to score the run.
Freshman
Wade Strain, who came on in relief, earned the first win of his collegiate career tossing two scoreless frames without allowing a hit, and added two strikeouts. Freshman
Jamie Sara and junior
Charlie Fletcher combined for two innings scoreless as well. Junior
Robert White worked around a two-out single to earn his first save of the season.
Brett Kreyer was saddled with his first loss of the season for the Leopards. He went six innings allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits with three strikeouts. Offensively, Woinski led the way with three hits and Robinson drove in three.
The Green and Gold open mid-week play with a pair of games as they play six straight away from Williamsburg. W&M heads to Virginia on Tuesday, Feb. 28, before making the trek to VMI on Wednesday, March 1. Both games are slated for 3 PM first pitches.
