Senior Abby Rendle Sets the School Record for Blocks as Women's Basketball Dispatches Davidson, 73-55

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Senior Abby Rendle set the William & Mary school record for blocks and registered her ninth career double-double as the women's basketball team cruised to its third straight victory with a 73-55 triumph over Davidson. With the win, the Tribe is now 5-1, while the Wildcats are 3-4.

For the second straight game, the Tribe scored on its opening possession and never trailed in the contest. W&M opened the game with a 10-3 run and never looked back. Freshman Nyla Pollard scored the game's first five points, before Davidson canned a triple. Rendle had a lay-up, before Boggs hit a 3-pointer to end the run.

The Tribe scored the final six points of the opening quarter to establish a double-digit advantage that it maintained for the rest of the game.  Leading 19-12, Rendle and classmate Jenna Green had back-to-back lay-ups, before Boggs had two from the line to end the opening stanza at 25-12.

Davidson made a run to open the fourth quarter, but was only able to cut the lead to 12 points. Down by 20, the Wildcats scored eight unanswered on two free throws from Saadia Timpton and back-to-back triples from Mackenzie Latt and Justine Lyon, which cut the score to 57-42 with 6:27 left.

Sophomore Nari Garner saved her career-night for the second half. She scored 17 points all in the fourth quarter, including four three's in the final stanza.

Inside the Numbers
- The Tribe continued its hot-shooting from both the field and 3-point range in the contest. W&M shot 48.3-percent (28-of-58) from the floor in the contest. The Green and Gold reset its season-high for the second straight game with nine 3-pointers, and shot 45-percent (9-of-20) from deep.

- Davidson held a slight advantage on the glass, 37-36. W&M is 3-3 in winning the rebounding battle this season, but holds a perfect 3-0 record when they lose the battle on the glass.
