BROOKLINE, Mass. – The William & Mary men's soccer team erupted with four goals over a 16:30 stretch in the first half on the way to a 4-1 victory at Northeastern on Saturday evening. Junior
Antonio Bustamante led the Tribe (5-4-3, 1-2-2 CAA) attack with a goal and three assists, the most by a CAA player season, while classmates
Ryder Bell and
Christian Jones and sophomore
Reeves Trott found the back of the net as well against the Huskies (2-8-2, 1-3-1 CAA).
Bell gave W&M a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute, scoring his third goal of the season. Bustamante found senior
William Eskay in space in the middle of the pitch. The senior led Bell into the penalty area, and his sliding attempt from 15 yards out to beat the keeper to the left side.
For the third time in as many games, Trott found the back of the net to increase the lead to 2-0 in the 25th minute. Bell sent the ball down the left flank to Bustamante, who in turn centered a pass to Trott at the six. The sophomore striker finished into the left side from in close.
Senior
Riley Spain set up Bustamante to increase the Tribe lead to 3-0 in the 28th minute. It was the Tribe's second goal in less than three mintues and third in 10 minutes. The senior midfielder lofted a pass over the top of the Northeastern defense, and Bustamante chested the ball down in the penalty area before chipping the NU goalkeeper from 12 yards out.
In the 34th minute, Jones headed home his first career goal off a set piece to give W&M four goals in less than 17 minutes. Bustamante served the free kick from 35 yards out on the left side into the middle of the area, and Jones scored inside the right post past a diving Jonathan Thuresson.

- W&M put seven of its eight shots in the opening half on goal and scored on four of those attempts. The Tribe outshot Northeastern, 10-8, for the game.
