Women's Soccer Falls at Northeastern, 4-2

BROOKLINE, Mass. – The William & Mary women's soccer team saw its three-match unbeaten streak come to a close at Northeastern, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon. Seniors Rachel Moore and Elysse Branton scored goals in each half for the Green and Gold (6-9-2, 2-4-2 CAA), but Northeastern (10-5-2, 4-1-2 CAA) tallied four-straight markers to end the first half and begin the second.

Moore gave W&M a 1-0 cushion in the 23rd minute with her second goal in as many games. Sophomore Sarah Segan played a through ball into the penalty area as Moore ran on it. Northeastern goalkeeper Nathalie Nidetch got a piece of Moore's shot, but not enough to keep it out of the goal as it crossed the line before the NU defense could clear it away.

The Huskies answered off a corner kick just two minutes later as Eve Goulet converted via service from Mikenna McManus. NU took a 2-1 cushion into the locker room as Nicole Gorman scored on a volley from 12 yards out off a cross from Kayla Cappuzzo.

Northeastern made it four unanswered goals on markers from Hannah Lipiccolo and Chelsea Domond in the 61st and 65th minutes. Branton pulled one back for the Tribe with 1:30 remaining on a free kick. The Tribe senior drew the foul along the top of the 18-yard box and unleashed a bb to the upper 90 to provide the final margin of 4-2.
