WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Sophomore
Reeves Trott headed home the equalizer in the 83rd minute as the William & Mary men's soccer team forged a 1-1 tie with Delaware in a rematch of last year's CAA Championship Match on Sunday evening at Martin Family Stadium.
After an uneventful first half, the Blue Hens (5-2-2, 2-1-1 CAA) jumped on top as John Schroeder hammered home a rebound in the 61st minute. Senior goalkeeper
Phil Breno did well to deny a Ryan Mertz shot from six yards out off a Chad Poarch cross, but Schroeder jumped on the rebound and hammered it home.
The Green and Gold (4-4-3, 0-2-2 CAA) knotted it up with seven minutes remaining in regulation on Trott's third goal of the season and second in as many matches. Sophomore
Julian Ngoh set up the play with a great run down the right flank, using his speed and touch to beat a Delaware defender. His lofting cross into the area found the head of Trott, who finished into the left side of the goal.
