WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Sept. 5, 2016)—After posting a tremendous performance in the William & Mary football team's season opener at NC State last Thursday, redshirt freshman safety Corey Parker has been selected as the STATS FCS Freshman Player of the Week.
 
Additionally, Parker was chosen as the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.
 
In addition to earning a start in his collegiate debut at NC State, Parker totaled a team-high 15 tackles and recorded an interception that he returned nine yards. The pick came in the red zone and halted a potential Wolfpack scoring drive.  
 
The Tribe will return to action when it plays at Hampton on Saturday at 6 p.m.
