WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary baseball team rallied for four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take the series with a 7-4 victory over Delaware in game two of the set. With the win, the Tribe wins its seventh consecutive Colonial Athletic Association game, and improves to 22-21 overall, 11-5 in league action, while the Blue Hens drop to 25-18, 4-11 in CAA play.

Ryder Miconi led the Tribe with three base hits in the victory. Senior
Josh Smith and sophomore
Cullen Large each hit homers and had two RBI.
Delaware scored its first run of the weekend in the top of the first inning. Kevin Mollhollen led off the game with a single up the middle, moving to second a wild pitch, and third on a groundout. A two-out RBI single from Jordan Glover gave the Blue Hens an early 1-0 lead.
The Blue Hens added a run in the top of the fourth inning. Glover was hit by a pitch, before he stole second. An infield single from Doug Trimble put runners on the corners with no one out. A sacrifice fly from Diaz Nardo added a run, but freshman starting pitcher
Bodie Sheehan was able to enduce a double play to stop any further damage.
William & Mary got on the board with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Three straight singles from Large, senior
Charley Gould, and Miconi loaded the bases. A bases load walk to
Josh Smith scored the Tribe's first run. After two outs, freshman
Zach Pearson singled to left field tying the score, but the go-ahead run was gunned down at the plate.
The Tribe took its first lead of the day with one swing in the bottom of the sixth.
Josh Smith crushed his eighth homer of the season over the left field wall to give W&M a 3-2 advantage.
UD rallied for two runs in the top of the eighth inning, regaining the lead. Mohollen led off the inning with a double into the right centerfield gap, before moving to third on a groundout. After a walk to Nick Tierno, Glover singled into left, tying the score. A two out double from Nardo gave the Hens a 4-3 lead.
For the 26th time this season W&M scored four, or more, runs an inning, plating exactly four in the bottom of the eighth. Freshman
Kyle Wrighte led off the inning with a walk. Large followed by belting his sixth homer of the season over the right field wall regaining the lead for the Tribe. The rally continued as Miconi singled, and both

Charles Ameer reached on hit by pitches loading the bases. Freshman
Hunter Smith followed by roping a single into right, giving W&M a 7-4 advantage.

Bodie Sheehan took a no decision, but was effective through seven innings allowing two runs on three hits with two strikeouts. Senior
Mitchell Aker was credited with his third victory of the season, and classmate
Joseph Gaouette earned his ninth save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.
Kevin Hinton was charged with his third loss of the season, allowing four runs on three hits in the eighth. Offensively, Glover and Mohollen led the Blue Hens with a pair of hits, while Glover and Nardo drove in two runs.
The Green and Gold go for the sweep of Delaware in the second game of a doubleheader starting at 3:30 p.m.
