CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (March 2, 2016) – The William & Mary lacrosse team fell at No. 7 Virginia, 16-8, on Wednesday evening.

McKinley Wade led the Tribe (2-2) offensively with two goals apiece, while Quinn's stat line also included a team-high four draw controls.

Alex Lista totaled a career-high 14 saves, while junior
Abby Junior posted a team-best five ground balls.
Both defenses dominated play during the opening 30 minutes, as the Cavaliers built a 6-1 advantage by halftime. W&M's lone score came on a goal by Quinn with 5:38 remaining.
Although UVA opened the second half with three unanswered goals to take a 9-1 lead with 23:52 remaining, the College answered with a 3-0 run to narrow the margin to five midway through the second half. Jenks provided a pair of goals during the stretch, while sophomore
Abby Corkum also found the back of the cage to help fuel the run.
However, Virginia countered with a quick 4-0 spurt to lead 13-4 with 11:40 left before eventually extending its advantage to as many as 10. W&M was unable to get any closer than the final margin the rest of the way.
Virginia outshot W&M, 39-26, and held advantages in draw controls (16-10) and ground balls (23-15).
Posey Valis led UVA with four goals, while four other Cavaliers totaled three points apiece.
The Tribe will return to action when it hosts Winthrop at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field on Sunday at 1 p.m.
