WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 16, 2016)—The William & Mary lacrosse team fell to UConn, 13-6, at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field on Wednesday evening.
Although W&M (3-4) outscored the Huskies (5-1), 6-2, during the final 30 minutes, it was unable to overcome an 11-0 halftime deficit.

Shannon Quinn led the Tribe offensively with two goals, while freshman
Maddie Torgerson added two points (1g, 1a). Sophomore

Hannah Ryan also found the back of the cage.

Abby Junior totaled a game-high four caused turnovers with two ground balls, while junior

Lindsey Jenks (2 CT, 4 GB) and senior
Catherine Shaughnessy (2 CT, 3 GB) also came up defensively.
Despite the final score, W&M held advantages in ground balls (31-27) and draw controls (12-9), while it also caused 17 of UConn's 23 turnovers.
After being outscored 11-0 during the first half, the Tribe opened the second half with four unanswered goals to get back into the contest.
Despite the impressive run, which included holding the Huskies scoreless for a span of nearly 13 minutes to begin the half, the College was unable to get any closer the rest of the way.
Katherine Finkelston led UConn with five goals, while Jacqueline Jordan (3g, 3a) and Alexandra Crofts (3g) also provided significant offensive production for the Huskies.
The Tribe will return to action when it hosts Virginia Tech on Saturday at 1 p.m.
