Justin Barden Voted the CAA Men's Swimming Scholar-Athlete of the Year

William and Mary junior Justin Barden (Gordonsville, Va.) was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Men's Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Thursday, after winning three conference titles this season.  This is the fourth year in a row that the Scholar-Athlete award has gone to a Tribe swimmer.

Barden set lifetime-bests in all four of his events in 2015, including all three events at the CAA Championships.  He won three gold medals, including the 100 fly where he defended his title from a year ago in a school-record time of 47.55 seconds.  Barden also swam on the Tribe's gold-medal 200 medley relay and the 400 medley relay, which broke the conference record in 3:13.83.  Barden also finished second in 200 back and third in the 100 back, swimming lifetime-bests of 1:44.51 and 48.01, respectively.  He finished the year with six victories, and ranked sixth on the team with 159.25 points.
