The William & Mary men's swimming team ran its winning streak to seven meets with a pair of wins Sunday at the CAA Pod Meet, improving to 4-0 (3-0 CAA) on the year. The Tribe downed Delaware 237-104, and beat UNCW as well 249-98.
Continuing a theme of the weekend, W&M won 11 of its 12 races Sunday, and lost only two races of 34 total all meet long. Sophomore
Tommy Kealy (Wilton, Conn.) led the way with three wins on the day, sweeping the 200 fly in 1:52.33 and beating UNCW in the 500 free in 4:39.01. The 400 free relay of
Joe Eiden (White Plains, N.Y.),
Kyle Neri (Wallingford, Conn.),
Alex Montes de Oca (Orange, Va.), and
Billy Russell (Newport News, Va.) swept the pool of its opponents in a time of 3:05.35, keeping the Tribe perfect in relay races on the season (8-0).
The senior class produced the Tribe's other six wins. Russell was the class of the 100 free in 46.27 seconds, and
Jeremiah O'Donnell (Chapel Hill, N.C.) swept the 200 breast in 2:03.79.
Will Manion (Haddonfield, N.J.) rounded out the weekend haul with a 1:49.23 showing in the 200 back to beat all comers.
William & Mary is back in the pool next weekend, traveling to Durham, N.C. for a tri-meet against No. 19 Duke and Old Dominion. Swimming begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.
