WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Aug. 19, 2014)—Seven members of the William and Mary lacrosse team have been selected to the 2014 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaching Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll.
The Tribe honorees include Jenna Dougherty, Alexi Farmakis, Sarah Gunter, Allison Henry, Amanda Johnson, Colleen Nofi and Ellen Shaffrey. All seven standouts earned a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5.
Earlier this month, the Tribe lacrosse program was recognized for its outstanding work in the classroom by being selected as a 2014 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad. W&M garnered the honor after earning a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better last year.
Additionally, the team also earned the NCAA Public Recognition Award for ranking among the top 10 percent of all lacrosse programs nationally in the Academic Progress Rate (APR). The APR measures a program's success at both graduating athletes and keeping them on a steady path to graduation.
