WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Former William and Mary women's basketball standout Kaitlyn Mathieu '14 has inked a contract to play professionally for TK Hannover in Germany next season.
“I feel really blessed to have the opportunity to continue playing the sport I love,” Mathieu said. “It has been a dream of mine to play professionally, and I am very grateful for this chance. I am extremely excited to take this journey to Germany not only to continue my growth with basketball, but to also to learn and be a part of a new culture.”
The Waterboro, Maine native finished her career playing in 115 games with 39 starts for the Green and Gold. She recorded 833 points (7.2 ppg), 536 rebounds (4.7 rpg), 63 blocks, 90 steals, and 82 assists. She currently ranks seventh in blocked shots (63) and tied for eighth in games played (115).
As a senior, she was the only Tribe player to start every game. She finished the year with 369 points (12.7 ppg) and 230 rebounds (7.9 rpg). Mathieu added 34 assist, 29 blocks, and 33 steals. For her effort, Mathieu was named Third-Team All-Colonial Athletic Association.
