The William and Mary men's swimming team brought its fall season to a
close Saturday afternoon, cruising past Georgetown 115.5-84.5 in
Williamsburg. With the win, the Tribe improves its record to 4-2 on the
year, while the Hoyas fall to 0-3 overall.

400 Medley Relay
The Tribe won seven of the day's 10 events, starting with the 400 medley relay. The quartet of
Will Manion (Haddonfield, N.J.),
Ben Ward (Maitland, Fla.),
Andrew Strait (Henrico, Va.), and
Billy Russell (Newport News, Va.) timed 3:26.30 for the win. The Tribe also took the silver medal in 3:28.16, thanks to the aggregation of
Justin Barden (Gordonsville, Va.),
Chris Dong (Chapel Hill, N.C.),
K.J. Shaw (Richmond, Va.), and
Taegan Clarke (Chappaqua, N.Y.).
1000 Free
In the 1000 free, sophomore
Kemp Pettyjohn (Lynchburg, Va.) was second overall in 9:42.40, and junior
Tyler Poling (Morristown, N.J.) took fourth with a time of 10:07.84.
200 Free
Freshman
Ryan Natal () won the 200 free, coasting into the wall just ahead of senior
Hunter Perrot (Falls Church, Va.) 1:43.98 to 1:44.07.
Billy Russell was fourth in the event, stopping the clock in 1:46.94.
50 Free
Ben Ward was victorious once again in the 50 free, powering through the pool in 21.29 for the win. Senior
Sidney Glass (Mechanicsville, Va.) was second in 21.89 seconds, and freshman
Ian Robert (New Canaan, Conn.) was fifth in 22.40.
200 IM
Andrew Strait added another title to his winning streak Saturday, winning the 200 IM in 1:55.05.
Justin Barden was second to the wall in 1:57.00, and
K.J. Shaw took fourth in 1:59.72.
200 Fly
In the 200 fly, it was freshman
Charley Bowles (Yorktown, Va.) coming in for the win, timing 1:59.00 to finish ahead of
Kemp Pettyjohn in 1:59.20.
Justin Barden completed the podium sweep, finishing in 2:00.90 for third place.
100 Free
Senior
Hunter Perrot stretched out just ahead of
Andrew Strait and won the 100 free by the narrowest of margins, 46.87 to 46.88 seconds.
Sidney Glass was fourth in the event with a time of 48.72 seconds.
200 Back
The 200 backstroke went to
Will Manion, who won for the seventh time as a freshman in 1:54.45.
Chad Nowakowski (Forest, Va.) was third in 1:58.37, and freshman
Austin Glass (Mechanicsville, Va.) took fourth in 1:59.49.
500 Free
In the 500 free, Tribe swimmers went 3-4-5, led by
Taegan Clarke's 4:55.77.
Jeremiah O'Donnell (Chapel Hill, N.C.) was next to the wall in 4:56.14, and
Carter Head (Lynchburg, Va.) rounded out the scoring in 4:57.35.
200 Free Relay
The Tribe exhibitioned all of its athletes in the final two events, but the 200 free relay team still turned in an impressive performance. The squad of
Ben Ward,
Sidney Glass,
Hunter Perrot, and
Billy Russell combined to time 1:24.64, breaking their own pool record set last month against ECU.
With the fall season now complete, William and Mary will take five weeks
off for exams, holidays, and winter training. The Tribe's next
competition will come on Saturday, Jan. 12, hosting Howard at 1 p.m.
