ERIE, Pa. (Aug. 25, 2011) - Former William and Mary lacrosse standout
Lindsey Lowman ('01) was recently named head women's lacrosse coach at Gannon.
Lowman takes over Gannon's
program after serving as the head coach at Harford (Md.) Community College last
season. She previously served as an assistant coach at Christopher Newport
University from 2002-06, helping guide the Captains to their first-ever trip to
the NCAA Tournament in 2006.
Lowman established herself as one
of the best players to ever wear a Tribe uniform during her stellar career at
the College. En route to earning first-team All-America honors as a senior, she
set a single-season school record with 44 assists - a record that still stands
today. Additionally, her 70 career assists ranks third all-time at W&M,
while her 141 career points is tied for the 10th most in school history. She
also owns the program's single-game assists record with eight, which she
recorded in a win against Davidson in 2001.
Lowman graduated from the College
with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and a minor in sociology in 2001.
