W&M Women's Basketball Hosts Delaware Sunday at 2 PM

The William and Mary women's basketball team returns home on Sunday afternoon to host Delaware in the second game of the season series.  The first game saw the Tribe rally convincingly in the second half before falling only by nine, 51-60.

Pink Zone - One Tribe, One Fight
Sunday's game is also the Tribe's Pink Zone game to help support breast cancer awareness and research. In honor of this cause, there will be free admission to all fans wearing pink. Also, the first 100 fans will get pink rally towels, the first 200 fans will receive pink ribbons and one lucky fan will be randomly chosen to win a $200 Kroger gift card.  There will be pre game human ribbon and a post game survior reception to help honor and support the breast cancer survivors and their families.

Scouting the Tribe
William and Mary's Taysha Pye ranks 50th in the nation this week in scoring at 17.5 ppg, and as she has for the past few weeks, also leads the team in rebounding at 5.9 rpg.  Sophomore Emily Correal is close behind her with 5.3 rpg, and is also averaging 10.5 ppg while contributing 1.1 blocks per game.  Freshman Kaitlyn Mathieu is making a push towards all-conference honors, a case that bolstered by her 15 point effort Thursday against UNCW when she hit every shot she took in the second half (3-3 FG, 1-1 3FG, 2-2 FT).

Scouting the Blue Hens
Delaware's win over Towson on Thursday night is helping to put the Blue Hens into contention for a first-round bye at next month's CAA Tournament with a 7-5 record in conference so far, and 14-9 overall.  All-American Elena Delle Donne is back after missing 12 games due to sickness, and had a double-double on Thursday of 21 points and 11 rebounds.  While she hasn't played enough games to qualify for the national rankings, her 24.8 ppg average this season would rank first in the nation.
