William and Mary alum Jon Grey '11 won his first national title Saturday, timing 29:38 to win the USA Club Cross Country Championships in Seattle. It is the second major national title for a Tribe graduate in the past 18 months, along with the road 10K championship won by Ed Moran '03 in July of 2010.

Running for Team USA Minnesota, Grey crossed the finish line Saturday 10 seconds ahead of the next runner, defending champion Aaron Braun of McMillan Elite. With the win, Grey earned an automatic spot on the Team USA roster for the Bupa Great Edinbugh International Cross Country in January, his first chance to wear the Red, White, and Blue. The win caps off a successful first professional fall for the three-time All-American, who in October anchored the USA University Select team to its best-ever finish at the Izumo Ekiden Relay.
