Women's Golf Finishes Tied for 18th at Unlimited Potential / Bay Tree Classic

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - William and Mary women's golf finished tied for 18th at the rain-shortened Unlimited Potential / Bay Tree Classic Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. The squad shot a team total of 645 over two rounds to tie with Longwood University in the 36-team event. Coastal Carolina won the tournament by posting a total of 602, while Radford's Laura Terebey took the individual medal with 140 (-4). The event, hosted by the College of Charleston, was scheduled to include three rounds but was cut to two after stormy conditions on Saturday halted play on the par-72, 5928-yard course at the Bay Tree Golf Plantation.

The Tribe made the most of its second round by shooting a combined 322, one stroke better than its effort in round one on Friday. Senior co-captain Ann Schnell (Richmond, VA) again led the squad by carding a 79 (+7) to give her 156 (+12) strokes for the tournament, placing her in a tie for 32nd overall. Both junior Alex Hill (West Lake, OH) and senior Nicole Rheaume (Lawrence, MA) improved on their first round scores by firing an 80 in the final round. Hill took two strokes off her first round score to end up tied for 80th with a 162 (+18) while Rheaume bested her first round total by four to finish tied for 99th at 164 (+20). Lindsay Wagner (Fairfax, VA) joined Rheaume tied for 99th after shooting 83 in the final round. Sophomore Debby Petracca (Manhasset, NY) closed with an 85 to tie for 129th, posting a 168 (+24).
