Taylor Rengers serves as the Assistant Athletics Director for Academic and Student Services at William & Mary, where she oversees the department’s academic and student support initiatives while serving as the primary liaison for academic and student affairs.

Taylor joined the Tribe in January 2021 as an Academic Coordinator, providing individualized academic and student support for student-athletes across William & Mary’s 23 varsity programs. In April 2022, she was promoted to Director of Academic Services, reporting directly to the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Administration. In that role, she guided student-athletes through academic schedule planning, major exploration, campus resource engagement, and NCAA eligibility requirements.

A strong advocate for student-athlete success, Taylor collaborates extensively with campus partners, including the Advising Center, Academic Wellbeing, Care Support Services, Student Accessibility Services, Student Transition and Engagement Programs, the Cohen Career Center, and the Center for Inclusive Excellence, among others. Her work focuses on creating a holistic support system that promotes academic achievement, personal development, and overall well-being.

In June 2024, Taylor was elevated to Assistant Athletics Director for Academic and Student Services. Under her leadership, William & Mary student-athletes have achieved remarkable academic success, producing nine consecutive semesters with a term GPA above 3.25 and helping the department maintain a cumulative GPA above 3.3 for five consecutive years.

The Tribe’s academic excellence has also been recognized nationally. In November 2025, William & Mary ranked second among NCAA Division I public institutions in Federal Graduation Rate, marking the 21st consecutive year the Tribe finished first or second nationally among public schools in the NCAA’s measurement. Additionally, the department’s 96% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) matched the highest mark in program history and ranked fourth nationally among Division I public institutions.

When the NCAA released its annual Academic Progress Rate (APR) report in May 2025, William & Mary ranked second nationally among Division I public schools in both perfect multiyear APR scores and Public Recognition Awards. Tribe programs earned 12 Public Recognition Awards, the most in the Coastal Athletic Association and the Commonwealth of Virginia, while ranking 12th nationally overall. The honored programs included Men’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics, Lacrosse, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Swimming, Women’s Tennis, and Volleyball.

Taylor earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia in 2018 before completing a Master of Science in Sport Administration at the University of Louisville. While at Louisville, she served as a lecturer in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences and worked as a tutor for student-athletes, experiences that helped shape her commitment to student success and athletic academic support.
