Rob Turner is in his 20th year with the William & Mary Media Relations Department and was promoted to Senior Associate Sports Information Director in the summer of 2011 after serving as the associate director the previous five years. Turner serves as the media contact for the football, lacrosse and men's and women's gymnastics programs.
During his tenure at W&M, Turner has also served as the contact for the baseball, women's basketball, women's soccer and volleyball programs.
Prior to joining the Tribe's staff, he spent five years with the University of Tennessee Media Relations department as a graduate assistant and student assistant.
As a graduate assistant at Tennessee, he worked primarily with the nationally ranked women's basketball team. In addition to coordinating interviews, he assisted with the production of various publications, including the 2004-05 media guide that was judged "Best in the Nation" by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A native of Williamsburg, Va., Turner earned his undergraduate degree in communications from UT in 2003 and a master's degree in sport management in 2005.
Turner and his wife, Christie, reside in Williamsburg with their son, Thomas, and daughter, Ashleigh.
