William and Mary head field hockey coach Peel Hawthorne ’80 announced the hiring of Kaitie Notarianni
today as the Tribe’s assistant coach. Notarianni will be responsible
for helping with all aspects of the Tribe program, including recruiting,
travel coordination, practice and game day coaching.
“Kaitie brings a valuable skill set to our coaching staff, as she is
proficient not only in coaching field hockey but also in digital media,”
said Hawthorne. “Kaitie has had a very successful playing career at
Quinnipiac under Head Coach Becca Main, and I believe she will fit well
into the Tribe program”
Notarianni graduated this spring from Quinnipiac University after
double-majoring in media production and graphic design. A four-year
member of the Bobcats’ field hockey team, she has earned All-NEC
second-team honors, as well as being selected as Quinnipiac’s most
valuable offensive player, for each of the past two years. Notarianni
was finished her career ranked seventh all-time for the Bobcats,
totaling 20 goals and nine assists while starting all 37 games over her
last two seasons.
Notarianni is a USA Field Hockey-certified assistant coach (Level 1) and
has extensive coaching and counseling experience on the summer camp
circuit, appearing at 10 camps since 2009.
William and Mary will open the year with a pair of scrimmages, one home
and one away, before heading to Davidson, N.C., to face the Wildcats and
Appalachian State on Aug. 25-26.
