George White

George White enters his second season as defensive student assistant.

After coming to W&M as a walk-on quarterback, White transitioned to a coaching role following his redshirt freshman season.

The Tribe maintained its status as one of the country’s top defensive units last season when it led the CAA and ranked 15th nationally in fewest passing yards allowed per game (179.8). A pair of All-Americans – cornerback Jalen Jones and linebacker Luke Banbury – led the defensive corps and were both honored as Buck Buchanan Award finalists before earning NFL rookie minicamp invites with the Commanders and Ravens, respectively. Defensive lineman Justin Krueger joined the duo on the all-conference team, while he and defensive lineman Brady Echols earned freshman All-America honors.
