Emily Malinak

Emily Malinak joined the William & Mary Athletics staff as an Associate Athletic Trainer in August 2026 and works primarily with the men’s basketball team.

Most recently, Emily spent three years at the University of Montana where she mainly worked with men’s basketball and men’s tennis, helping both teams to conference championship titles and NCAA berths.

Prior to Montana, Emily spent two years at the University of Indianapolis (UIndy). While at UIndy, she worked with men’s and women’s basketball for the duration, then added men’s and women’s swim/dive the second year. While working with the swimming and diving programs, the men captured the program’s first National Championship and the women finished second, also a program first. The same year,

Emily served as host for the men’s basketball Division II NCAA Regional Tournament after the team earned the #1 seed for the region and hosting rights.

Emily earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Exercise Science and Minor in Media Arts from the University of Montana before moving to the East Coast to earn her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Boston University. Most recently, Emily earned her Doctor of Athletic Training from A.T. Still University with concentrations in Orthopaedics and Sport Neurology & Concussion. She is also a CPR Instructor and trained to dry needle.

Originally from Valier, Montana, Emily now lives in Williamsburg.
