William & Mary Athletics

Kathleen serves as the Assistant Director of Academic and Student Services at William & Mary, where she provides comprehensive academic support and student development services for Tribe student-athletes while helping advance the department’s commitment to academic excellence.
 
Kathleen joined William & Mary Athletics in July 2022 as an Academic Coordinator, overseeing individualized academic and student support for student-athletes across 11 varsity programs. In January 2026, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Academic and Student Services, reporting directly to the Assistant Athletics Director for Academic and Student Services. In her expanded role, she added two additional teams to her caseload and continues to guide student-athletes through academic schedule planning, major exploration, degree progress, campus resource utilization, and NCAA eligibility requirements.
 
During Kathleen’s tenure, William & Mary student-athletes have continued to achieve exceptional academic success. The Tribe has recorded nine consecutive semesters with a term GPA above 3.25, while maintaining a department-wide cumulative GPA above 3.3 for five consecutive years. The department’s academic achievements have also been recognized nationally, as William & Mary ranked second among NCAA Division I public institutions in Federal Graduation Rate in 2025, marking the 21st consecutive year the Tribe finished first or second among public schools in the NCAA metric. Additionally, the Tribe’s 96% Graduation Success Rate matched the highest mark in the 21-year history of the report and ranked fourth nationally among NCAA Division I public institutions.
 
Prior to joining the Tribe, Kathleen spent four years at the University of South Carolina, where she served in a variety of roles supporting the athletics academic services unit. During her time with the Gamecocks, she contributed significantly to student-athlete academic support initiatives and played a key role in helping the Women’s Cross Country team achieve sustained academic success.
 
A former collegiate student-athlete herself, Kathleen earned her Bachelor’s degree from Brevard College in 2018, where she was a standout member of the women’s soccer program. She later completed her Master’s degree in Sport Management from Wingate University in 2022. Drawing upon her experiences as both a student-athlete and higher education professional, Kathleen is passionate about empowering student-athletes to excel academically, athletically, and personally throughout their time at William & Mary and beyond.
