Biography
Christa Ann Saunders is in her second year as an undergraduate assistant for the Tribe swim teams, after chronic injuries forced her early retirement in 2013. Saunders helps the Tribe's full-time coaches at practices and meets with overseeing workouts, video, and timing. She is on track to graduate in the spring of 2015.
Before retiring, Saunders won three races her freshman year at the Terrapin Invitational. She won the finals of the 200 back, and also the prelims of both the 100 and the 200 back. In high school, Saunders swam for the Madeira School and Machine Aquatics, and was a championship finalist at the Virginia state championships as a senior. She had best times of 58.56 in the 100 back and 2:03.30 in the 200 back for the Green and Gold.
