Theadora Kwas spent one season on staff as an assistant coach.
Last spring, W&M recorded the program’s best record – and the team’s most conference wins – since 2011. Additionally, a trio of W&M standouts garnered postseason all-conference honors after tremendous seasons. Sarah Cipolla highlighted the impressive group, as she finished her career as the program’s all-time record holder for draw controls (177).
A two-time member of the Senior Australian National Team, she competed with the squad at multiple international championships in 2017 and 2022. She helped the team earn bronze at the 2022 World Games and place fourth at the 2022 World Lacrosse Championships. Additionally, Kwas was a member of the bronze medal winning squad at the 2017 World Games, while the team placed fourth at the 2017 FIL World Cup
Kwas also competed with the U19 Australian Women’s Lacrosse Team in 2011 and 2015. In addition to being selected to the All-World Team in 2015, she helped the squad earned a silver medal at the 2011 FIL World Cup.
As a collegiate player at Maryland from 2014-17, Kwas helped the Terps win three national titles and four Big Ten conference championships, the most successful run since Maryland’s powerhouse decade, where they won eight out of 10 national championships, including seven in a row between 1995 and 2001.
After a tremendous playing career, she began her coaching career as an undergraduate student assistant at Maryland during the 2018 season and helped the top-ranked Terps post a 20-2 record and advance to the NCAA Semifinals.
Honored as a Big Ten conference distinguished scholar twice (2016, 2017), she earned an undergraduate degree in criminology and criminal justice in 2018.
