Katie Lasater enters her second season as an assistant coach with William & Mary lacrosse.
While Lasater is instrumental in all areas of the program, her primary responsibilities include serving as the offensive coordinator.
Lasater played a pivotal role in W&M’s success during her first year in Williamsburg, as the program tied its second-highest win total during the last nine years and won multiple conference games for just the second time in the last 12 seasons.
In addition to the victories, W&M also posted one of the program’s most successful seasons statistically in recent years, as it ranked among the Tribe’s single-season top-10 lists in points per game (16.12 / 7th), points (258 / T9th), goals (185 / 10th), goals per game (11.56 / 10th), and draw controls per game (12.75 / 10th). Additionally, W&M ranked second in the CAA in ground balls per game (18.31).
A number of Tribe standouts also posted remarkably successful campaigns, which was highlighted by Paige Gilbert who earned all-conference honors after ranking fourth on the program’s single-season list for draw controls (60). Additionally, Kate Draddy (55 draw controls / 8th) and Ainsley Huizenga (23 assists / T9th) ranked among the program’s single-season top-10 lists.
W&M also excelled in the classroom, as 30 standouts earned CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor accolades during the spring semester, while 14 members of the squad garnered W&M's Provost Award for academic excellence and 10 were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. Additionally, four Tribe standouts earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-District honors.
Lasater, a former standout attacker at Cabrini University, joined the Tribe’s staff after impressive tenures as an assistant coach with multiple successful programs, most recently at Bucknell University.
As an assistant at Bucknell in 2023, Lasater was instrumental in the development of multiple All-Patriot League standouts. Additionally, the Bison excelled in the classroom as 29 standouts garnered Patriot League Academic Honor Roll distinction.
Prior to her time at Bucknell, she served as an assistant at Washington & Lee University in 2022. En route to helping lead the Generals total a school-record-tying 19 wins, the squad captured the ODAC regular-season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals. Additionally, six W&L standouts earned all-conference honors, highlighted by the ODAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Lasater’s coaching resume also includes working as an assistant at Kutztown University (2018-21), Arcadia University (2017-18) and with Philly Blast Lacrosse Club (2017-present).
A standout attacker at Cabrini, Lasater finished her collegiate playing career with 126 points, 94 goals and 32 assists. She led the Cavaliers to four consecutive league championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, while she was honored as the MVP of the 2016 Colonial State Athletic Conference championship game. She was also selected to the CSAC All-Academic Team.
A native of Malvern, Pa., Lasater earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing with minors in sports management and finance from Cabrini in 2016.
