Kara Mupo served as an assistant coach with the Tribe lacrosse program in 2016 and 2017.

Numerous Tribe players have benefited from Mupo’s tutelage during her two seasons in Williamsburg, as six W&M standouts have combined to earn seven all-league distinctions during her tenure.  Additionally, W&M has led the Colonial Athletic Association in ground balls during each of the last two years, while it ranked first in caused turnovers in 2016 and second in 2017.

Mupo joined the Tribe staff after a standout playing career at Northwestern in which she helped the Wildcats win a pair of national championships and advance to the Final Four on four occasions. Currently a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, Mupo served as a team captain at NU during her senior season and finished her collegiate career with 186 points (136g, 50a).

She has continued her playing career as a professional with the Philadelphia Force of the United Women’s Lacrosse League during the past two seasons. One of the league’s top players, she led the UWLX in goals in 2016.

In addition to her impressive resume as a player, Mupo has assisted with numerous lacrosse camps across the country during the past few years. She has also provided one-on-one instruction as a personal lacrosse trainer.

A native of Coram, N.Y., Mupo earned a bachelor of science degree in human development and psychological services from NU in June 2014. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration at NU.
