Grace Beshlian spent one season as an assistant coach at William & Mary in 2022.
Beshlian was instrumental in W&M’s success during her first year, as five Tribe standouts garnered all-conference honors, which included three All-Rookie Team selections. Additionally, W&M led the Colonial Athletic Association in ground balls per game (20.12), caused turnovers per game (9.12) and saves per game (10.69). The Tribe’s ground balls average ranked seventh nationally.
W&M also excelled academically as 22 players garnered the prestigious Provost Award.
Beshlian, a former standout goalie and team captain at the University of Connecticut, joined the Tribe’s staff after a successful tenure as a student assistant at UConn in 2021.
Beshlian made an immediate impact as a member of UConn’s coaching staff and helped lead the Huskies to a record-breaking campaign. In addition to earning just the second NCAA Tournament bid in the program’s history, the Huskies equaled a school record for wins (12) and set a new mark for BIG EAST victories (7) en route to garnering a No. 21 national ranking in the final Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaching Association (IWLCA) Poll.
UConn also set school records for goals (273), points (375), shots (569) and draw controls (286) last spring, while it ranked 21st nationally with 14.37 goals per games and 25th in team save percentage (.459).
Numerous UConn standouts also benefited from Beshlian’s tutelage, as midfielder Sydney Watson became the first player in program history to be selected to the IWLCA All-America First Team and a school-record five standouts earned IWLCA All-Region honors – highlighted by goalie Landyn White who ranked third in the country with 167 saves.
In addition to her tenure at UConn, Beshlian’s coaching experience also includes serving as an assistant with the Long Island Legacy club team and working numerous camps and clinics.
As a standout goalie at UConn (2016-20), Beshlian served as a team captain and Leadership Council Member. Additionally, she garnered academic all-conference honors twice and finished her career with 471 saves, which ranks third in school history.
A native of Wantagh, N.Y., Beshlian earned her undergraduate degree in special education (2020) and a master’s degree in educational psychology (2021) from UConn.
