Jay Joya joined the Tribe Sports Medicine staff in August 2024. Prior to joining William & Mary, she served as an assistant athletic trainer at Western Carolina University, where she worked primarily with women's basketball and cheerleading.
 
Joya earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Bridgewater College in 2022 and completed a 3+2 program to obtain her Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2023. She is a member of Minority Women in Sports and is a certified Mental Health First Aider.
 
Originally from Harrisonburg, Virginia, Joya now resides in Williamsburg. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, exploring local restaurants and trying new coffee shops.
