Ranked 12th in the NCAA and 19th in the U.S. in the javelin at year's end ... Won five of the six meets he threw at before suffering an elbow injury that kept him out of the NCAA meet ... Lost to only two collegiate athletes in head-to-head competition all year ... Broke his own school record twice, at the Mt. SAC Relays and again at the Penn Relays ... Won the Penn Relays with a school-record throw of 73.09 meters ... Was the top at-large candidate in the national pool for NCAA selections ... Won the CAA title in the javelin with a school, conference, and stadium record throw of 227-5 ... Broke the old school record by more than four feet, and the conference record by nearly 21 feet ... Also won the Colonial Relays title ... School-record throw ranked third in the nation among junior men (19 and under), and was the top throw by any junior-eligible collegiates.
