Former Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year and Tribe alum Aidan Talcott was promoted to assistant coach in August of 2019 and served as the Tribe's assistant into the 2021-22 season. Talcott, who played for the Green and Gold from 2015-17, served as a volunteer during the spring season in 2019.
 
Over his two seasons, the Tribe owns a 16-10 record. In 2021, the Tribe won seven of its final nine matches to advance to the CAA Championship match. W&M earned its highest national ranking since 2007, coming in at No. 59 behind three wins over top-70 foes and a final record of 9-6. 

In May of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Talcott ran a 50-mile ultramarathon on William & Mary's campus to raise money for the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, where he is a child life volunteer. He efforts raised over $3,000 for CHKD. 

Talcott graduated from W&M in 2017 after transferring from Denver prior to his junior season. In each of his two seasons with the Tribe, he led the team in singles wins. As a senior, he became the sixth player in program history to be named the CAA Player of the Year. He earned a national ranking as high as No. 72 during the spring season and was also named the Most Outstanding Performer at the CAA Championship. He went 3-0 at the league championship and dropped just five total games at the No. 1 singles position. He earned VaSID All-State and All-CAA First Team honors in 2017.
 
Following graduation, Talcott spent a year competing on the ITF Men’s Circuit. He returned to Williamsburg last spring and served as the program’s volunteer assistant. Talcott aided in the development of a young roster that featured six freshmen and sophomores among its nine players, including five of its top six at the CAA Championship. The Tribe advanced to the league semifinals in 2018. Sebastian Quiros earned All-CAA First Team honors in singles, while Brenden Volk and Chen Ruo garnered a spot on the second team for doubles.
