Finished 13th overall in both the 400 IM and the mile at the Hokie Fall Invitational ... Also made the C-finals of the 200 fly, taking 21st, and the 500 free, finishing 22nd ... Won the 1000 free against Mary Washington.

Set lifetime-bests in the 400 IM, 500 free, 1000 free, and 1650 free at the CAA Championships ... Best finish came in the 400 IM, where he was 12th overall ... Also made the B finals in the 500 and the 1650, finishing 15th and 16th, respectively ... C-finalist in the 500, 1650, and the 200 fly at the Terrapin Cup.

Freshman Year (2010-11): Advanced to the finals of the 400 IM at the CAA Championships ... Placed 12th with a career-best time of 4:04.69 ... Also scored in the 1650 free, timing 16:13.56 for 16th overall ... Runner-up in the 500 free against Howard and Mary Washington ... Took 11th in the 1650 free at the Terrapin Invitational to cap off the fall season ... Runner-up in the 1000 free against East Carolina.

Personal: Son of Jonathan and Marisa Poling … Father, Jonathan, played tennis for the University of South Alabama … Uncle played tennis for Clemson, while his aunt played tennis for Stanford … Came to W&M because of the perfect balance between academics and athletics.
