Made the championship finals in all three of his CAA events ... Repeated as bronze-medalist in the 200 IM ... Also took seventh in the 100 fly with a lifetime-best 48.72 ... Eighth in the 200 back at 1:49.41, after swimming a best-ever 1:46.94 in the prelims ... Set the W&M school records in the 100m fly (55.18) and the 200m back (2:05.44) at the Last Chance Qualifier in the summer ... Made three championship finals and one B final during the Bucknell Invitational ... Fifrth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 200 back ... Finished seventh in the 100 fly, and 14th in the 100 back ... Won the 200 back against George Washington, his first race of the second semester for the second straight year ... Scored 202.25 points for the season with 14 podium finishes.

2014-15
Three-event finalist at the CAA Championships ... Finished third in the 200 IM for his first individual all-conference honor ... Swam a lifetime-best 1:48.03 in the prelims ... Seventh in the 200 back ... Turned in another lifetime-best 1:47.10 in the prelims ... Took 13th in the 100 fly with a lifetime-best 49.33 ... At the Hokie Fall Invitational, finished 15th in the 200 back ... Won the bonus finals of the 100 back ... Took 18th overall in the 200 IM ... Also qualified for the B finals of the 100 fly, but did not swim finals ... Won the 200 back against Davidson ... Had 16 total podium finishes on the year, out of 37 races ... Totaled 140.0 points for the season ... At the Virginia Long Course Championships in the summer, finished third in the 100m fly ... Also took fifth in the 100m back and eighth in the 200m back.

2013-14
Earned All-CAA honors on the Tribe's runner-up 200 free relay ... Individually, took fifth in the 200 IM ... Swam 1:49.65 in the prelims to break W&M's freshman record in the event ... Also took seventh in the 200 back ... Finished 13th overall in the 100 fly ... At the end of the season, swam 45.87 at the Virginia Swimming State Championships in the 100 free ... At the Hokie Fall Invitational, finished eighth in the 200 back ... Also took 13th in the 100 back and 16th in the 100 fly ... Made the C finals of the 200 IM, finishing 23rd ... Won the 200 back against Duke, handing Will Manion his only dual-meet loss in a backstroke all year long.

Prep
Scholastic All-American ... Finalist at the NCSA Junior Nationals ... Also qualified for the USA Swimming Junior Nationals ... Took fourth in both the 100 fly and the 100 back at the Virginia AAA state championships as a senior ... Named to the Freelance Star All-Area team all four years ... Vice President of the National Honor Society ... Also VP of the Spanish Club.

Son of Alex and Paula Montes de Oca ... Brother, Nick, swam for four years at Virginia and was an Olympic Trials qualifier ... Enjoys playing drums and playing Frisbee.
